Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship Program This scholarship program assists high school seniors who have completed an advanced placement computer science course or who have taken an advanced placement computer science test and plan to continue their education at an accredited four-year college or university majoring in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering or other computer related field of study. Winners of the award receive $10,000 at an accredited four-year college or university as well as a paid summer internship at Amazon after their freshman year of college. The Drawing for the Reverse Raffle for the Junior Class After Prom fundraiser has been moved to December 9th and will be drawn during the high school basketball games. I would like to invite you to an event this Saturday, November 9, 2019 from 11:00 am -2:00 pm called Central Saturday. Central Saturday is an event designed to highlight housing to admitted and prospective students and their parents. Take a tour of the residence halls and the campus, connect with campus resources, and get assistance completing the online application for housing. Admissions counselors will be on-site to help prospective students with their university application. Lunch and football tickets are included with Central Saturday attendance and its free! Greetings from Bacone College! Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma and we are Oklahoma's oldest higher education institution. Our institution is returning to its historical mission to educate American Indians. As we prepare to transition to a tribal college, we are seeking out all Native students who wish to earn a college degree within a diverse campus community. Thank you to all the students who participated in our Pennies for Puppies drive. All together the students raised $68 to donate to the local drug dog program.

Senior night is this Friday prior to the game vs Buffalo. Activities will begin at 6:15 pm.

3/4 and 5/6 elementary basketball plays at Taloga Thursday. Both teams will travel together and leave from Sharon @ 3:00. 3/4 girls play at 4:30 with other games to follow.

Seniors, there is a misprint on the Horton Studios letter regarding the setting fees. Those are due by November 9th to Mrs. Green, not October 9th.

The freshmen physical science class taught the 3rd and 4th grade some Playground Physics.

Students who are interested in concurrent enrollment in college classes during high school should contact Mrs. Hopper. You have to have at least a 19 in the area you are interested in taking a class in, as well as a 19 in reading to be eligible. Tuition is paid for up to 9 hours for juniors at NWOSU and seniors may take 18 with tuition paid. Fees and books are payable by the students. You should check with the registrar's office to see how much fees are.

Seniors should be filing the FAFSA for 2020-2021 school year, filling out college applications, residence applications, and financial aid and scholarship applications as they come available. 8th graders through 10th graders may apply for Oklahoma's Promise which is a program paying tuition for eligible students. If your adjusted gross income for 2018 is $55,000 or less, you may qualify. Check it out at https://www.okhighered.org/okpromise/.

The HPTC Health Careers program will have openings for students who want to take the EMT course major for the second semester.  Only those students who want to be an EMT are eligible to enroll.  See Mrs. Hopper for the letter that explains the enrollment process, the reference form, and the Health Questionnaire.  They have set the interview date for Monday, December 2nd at High Plains Technology Center.  Students will need to call JoAnn McCune at (580) 571-6171 to select a date and time for your interview. The selection process includes the following steps:1.      Students must have a minimum of a cumulative 2.75 GPA and good attendance to apply for the 2nd semester EMT course in Health Careers Program. 2.      Participate in an interview with the instructors.  Call JoAnn McCune at 580-571-6171 to set up the interview.  Your transcript and your attendance record MUST be turned in to JoAnn McCune at HPTC (3921 34th Street, Woodward, OK  73801) by November 27th.  If they do not have your transcript and attendance record on file, you may not set up an interview. You can have your school send them this information directly if that is easier for you. Our fax number is 580-571-6180.3.      Students must complete the enclosed questionnaire and return it to us by December 2nd.4.      Students must have the two enclosed references returned to us by December 2nd.   One reference needs to come from one of your high school teachers and the other reference can come from an employer or other school personnel.
