SWOSU would like to invite junior or senior students that are interested in science and technology fields to SWOSU’s Spring Tech Tour Day on Tuesday, January 30th from 8:30 am – 12:30 pm. Students will get to learn more about SWOSU and tour campus, but the highlight of the day will be an extended hands-on workshop in the two areas of their choice. We hope that providing firsthand experience will stimulate interest and motivation in technology, highlight career opportunities, and reinforce cultural growth and personal development. Students can choose from the following interest areas: Chemistry: a brief introduction to chemical synthesis where students will learn to synthesize a unique metal complex. Computer Science: covering elements of coding, a student will learn to program their own ā€œchoose your own adventureā€ game. Engineering Physics: a study of motion and projectiles. Engineering Technology: using 2D drafting software, students will design and then print a 3D product. Graphic Design: a brief introduction into the basics where students will create their own graphic poster. The registration form includes a more detailed description of the workshops and will give the students an opportunity to select the two areas of their choosing. Registration Form https://swosu.jotform.com/222616337472153. (Ctrl + Click) or copy and paste the URL. Due to the hands-on nature of this event, student space is limited so be sure to register early!
