Students in Grades 1st-6th went to the Stafford Air and Space Museum in Weatherford today for the ones who made their reading goals.

Congratulations to Sammi Green for placing 4th with her Dark Cross Commercial Gilt at OYE! Great job on accomplishing another goal this year!

Due to weather concerns tomorrow, the HS track meet at Cherokee has been cancelled. Not sure about a rescheduled date yet.

Thank you to Mrs. Cole for sharing her 4th graders with high school to celebrate Pi Day (3/14) a little early. Thanks to Gabe Sessoms for reading “Sir Cumference and the Dragon of Pi” to the 4th graders.

The Woodward Elks Rodeo Scholarship of $1,000 is available.  You must be a member of Rodeo Club and/or a member of Oklahoma High School Rodeo Association to qualify.  Submit a cover letter explaining why they should get the scholarship, a resume', and a transcript.  Applications are due April 13, 2020.  Send to Woodward Elks Rodeo, Scholarship Committee, PO Box 1104, Woodward, OK  73802.

Congratulations to the Sharon-Mutual Boys and Girls basketball teams for achieving the OSSAA Distinguished Academic award. This is achieved by having a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50 and being ranked in the upper ten percent of their classification. Great athletes and great students! Nice work Trojans!!

Class C Regional runner up team, Gabe Sessoms is Regional champion of the 168 class,  Garett Stocking places 4th and is a state qualifier in the 220 class.  Awesome job guys!

It’s time to begin the enrollment process into the HPTC career tech programs for the 20-21 school year! Due to the increased number of students wanting to attend HPTC, several of their programs will require an entrance interview for this next year. The HPTC programs that WILL require an entrance interview are: Auto Construction Diesel Health Marketing Multimedia Sophomore Tap The programs that will NOT require an interview are: BAM, Service Careers and Welding. Sophomore who will be juniors: These students attended Sophomore Tours and completed a survey in which they indicated which program they were in. They will receive a letter from that program with the instructions on what they need to do to get into the program. Juniors who will be seniors new to the program are required to apply and go through entrance interview, references, and any additional information. Returning HPTC students: If returners want to continue in their current HPTC program – they do not need to interview. Returners who want to change programs will need to interview for their new program (unless it’s BAM, Service Careers, or Welding). THE REQUIRED ENTRANCE INTERVEIWS WILL TAKE PLACE ON MARCH 24TH & 25TH (March 26th for Marketing) All interviews will take place at HPTC and begin at 3:30 p.m. and end when the last person is interviewed! Students must call the instructor to set up an interview. Career tech will mail out the letters to the Sophomores this week.

The Horatio Alger Career and Technical Education program scholarship is now available for application at application.oratioalger.org.  The application is due by April 15, 2020.

College can be expensive. That’s why scholarships for women are so valuable. First, they help lower the cost of going to school, which is worthwhile in itself.
