The first day at High Plains Technology Center will be August 13th. At this point we are strongly encouraging the students to wear masks, but it is not currently required. Temperatures will be taken before you board the bus to go to HPTC, and again when you return to S-M. If you drive, your temperature will be taken before you go to class at HPTC.
Any student wanting to get their driver's permit will need to check with the high school office to see if they passed their 8th grade reading test and obtain the certification letter. If they did not pass the test, they should make arrangements with Mrs. Shryock when school starts to take an alternate reading test.
Any junior or senior interested in taking concurrent college classes while in high school, see Mrs. Hopper if you have not already done so. Juniors may take 9 hours tuition free at NWOSU or Redlands Community College through a tuition waiver program the colleges are doing. Seniors may take up to 18 hours tuition free through the Oklahoma Board of Regents program. Any student who takes concurrent enrollment classes is responsible for payment of the fees and the books.
